MetalSwap Governance DAO Guide

What is a DAO?

A DAO is an organization governed by rules encoded as a computer program, transparent and controlled by its members, not a central authority. DAOs are member-owned communities with decentralized leadership, and their transactions and rules are recorded on a blockchain.

Accessing MetalSwap’s DAO

  1. Navigate to MetalSwap’s main dApp.
  2. From the top menu, select Governance to explore the DAO’s functionalities.

Initial Setup

Upon your first visit:

  1. Grant “Self Delegate” permission to allow the smart contract to verify your token holdings and determine your voting power.
  2. If you have multiple wallets, repeat this process for each one.
  3. Confirm the transaction to proceed to the governance page.

Participating in Governance

  • Active Proposals: Review and vote on current proposals.
  • Past Proposals: View completed proposals and their outcomes.
  • Create Proposal: Propose new ideas for the MetalSwap project, provided you hold a minimum required amount of XMT tokens.

Voting Power

  • Any XMT holder who has self-delegated can vote on proposals.
  • Your voting power is proportional to the amount of XMT you hold—the more XMT, the greater your influence.
